Terry Lucas is an Associate Professor in the Animation programme at the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts (FACA), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). He currently serves as the Academic Quality Coordinator within FACA. Prior to this role, he held the position of Deputy Director of Learning Technology from 2020 to 2024 at the Centre for Applied Learning and Multimedia (CALM). He was the Programme Coordinator for the Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education Teaching and Learning (PgDip (HETL)) at CALM in 2019. His research interests are in educational animation, instructional animation, computer animation, three-dimensional animation, dynamic visualisations, the cognitive aspects of visual information comprehension, and interface design. He began his career at UNIMAS in 2010, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology with a specialisation in Arts from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the United States, followed by a Master’s degree in Digital Imaging and Design from New York University. In 2018, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Arts and Design at Universiti Teknologi MARA in Malaysia. Presently, he directs his efforts towards teaching, research, and supervision within the interdisciplinary realms of animation and education.

I am also interested to collaborate in projects that focus on the potential applications of animation for edutainment purposes such as video, film, games, interactive multimedia, mobile apps, websites, and other forms of new media such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality.
